Jagananna Vidya Deevena Scheme is a boon to students in the state of Andhra Pradesh. It is a direct benefit scheme for the students pursuing higher eduction, from the economically weaker sections. It is a prestigious scheme launched by the chief minister of AP Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy.

The Jagananna Vidya Deevena scheme is an education-focused initiative launched by the Government of Andhra Pradesh in June 2019. The main objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to students from economically weaker sections to pursue higher education.

Under the Jagananna Vidya Deevena scheme, the government provides financial assistance to students for the payment of tuition fees and other educational expenses. The scheme covers students pursuing various professional courses, including ITI, polytechnic, degree, and post-graduation. The scheme is available to students who meet certain eligibility criteria. Generally, students from economically weaker sections of the society, whose family income is below a specified threshold, are eligible for the scheme.
The scheme covers students studying in both government and private educational institutions. This ensures that students from all backgrounds have access to financial assistance for their education. The financial assistance provided under the Jagananna Vidya Deevena scheme is transferred directly to the bank accounts of the eligible students or their guardians through the Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) system. This helps in ensuring transparency and minimizing any potential leakages in the process.

This scheme helps in reducing the financial burden on the students and their families, allowing them to focus on their studies without worrying about the payment of fees.

The Jagananna Vidya Deevena scheme is part of a broader set of education-related initiatives launched by the Andhra Pradesh government. These include schemes like Jagananna Amma Vodi (providing financial assistance for the education of school-going children) and Jagananna Gorumudda (providing mid-day meals in schools). Jagananna Vidya Kanuka (providing uniforms, notebooks etc.,). These schemes collectively aim to improve access to quality education and reduce the dropout rates among students.
Schools were reopened on June 12 and the concened HMs of all schools in the state began to distribute JVK Kits to all students. JVK Kits include the distribution of uniforms, textbooks, notebooks, dictionaries, bags, belts, socks and shoes. Now the state government is implementing national education policy by supplying bilingual textbooks. Parents and students have to best utilize these schemes and be the partakers of achieving the goal of quality education in the state set by the government.
