USPA NEWS - The Purdy’s Wharf parkade in downtown Halifax has been evacuated due to a suspicious vehicle that is being searched in response to the threats.

10:32: BOMB THREAT - UPPER WATER STREET IN HALIFAX - EVACUATION DETAILS BELOW --- Halifax Regional Police have a man in custody and an increased police presence in two areas of the city due to threats he made.

There a man was arrested on Thomas Raddall Drive near the Canada Games Centre. Police will have an increased presence in this area as well.
Evactuation Order Expands: A suspicious vehicle contained in the parkade of 1969 Upper water Street is being investigated. The immediate area has been evacuated, and police currently have the area contained and are investigating.
The evacuation area in downtown Halifax has now expanded to include the following: The intersection of Barrington Street/Amalamek Way is closed, Upper Water Street is closed, Brunswick Street/Dr. Aldred Waddell Street to Brunswick Street/Cogswell Street, and Duke Street/Barrington Street is closed to vehicle traffic down to Upper Water Street.
This evacuation order includes all businesses in this area. Pedestrians are asked to leave the area as well, and remain out of the area until the investigation is complete. More information will be released once it is available. 26-123796
