For Information On Incident In Timberlea

RCMP Halifax Regional Detachment is seeking information from the public as officers investigate an arson and attempted arson in Timberlea.
On September 5th, at approximately 2:20 am, RCMP, fire services and EHS responded to a report that a Molotov cocktail had been thrown at a home in the 400 block of Marketway Lane. Upon arrival, the residence was fully engulfed in flames. Neighbouring properties sustained minor damage. No injuries were reported.
On September 7th, at approximately 4:10 am, officers were again called to the 400 block of Marketway Ln. following a report of a suspicious person. Investigators learned that a man had been seen exiting a residence with a cloth that was lit on fire. The man dropped the cloth and fled the area in a vehicle. A jug containing an accelerant had been left in the yard. The incident is being investigated as an attempted arson.
The investigations are ongoing. Officers are seeking information related to a small blue vehicle seen leaving the area on September 5th. They’re also looking to identify a man wearing black pants and a brown jacket who was seen in a grey Honda Civic on September 7th. Investigators are particularly interested in obtaining doorbell camera or dashcam footage from the Marketway Lane area between 1:30 am and 5 am on September 5 and September 7th.
